Refreshing Drinks for a Hot Day

One of the perks of living in Southwest Florida is that my sister and I can hop on our bicycles on a Saturday morning and ride to our local outdoor shopping area, which we did last week.  After a not-so-quick stop at the Apple store so she could purchase a new watch, we decided to pop in at the Tommy Bahama Outdoor Marlin Bar for a quick bite and refreshing drink.

After all, it was 85 degrees in mid February and we were sweltering hot. So we were happy to discover Tommy Bahama's Zero Proof (non-alcoholic) drinks. I had the Faux-Jito, a mixture of muddled mint, lime and lemon-lime soda. It was the perfect thirst quencher for me. My sister had the Pain Chiller, which tasted just like a Pina Colada: pineapple and orange juices, cream of coconut and a slight sprinkle of nutmeg on top.

These delightful drinks will be fun to replicate at home around the pool anytime of the year. Just assemble the ingredients and experiment with the quantities until you hit the right combination. Cheers!
